Mitrovic owners in the mud?

There’s no doubt that this double Gameweek will provide us with drama, joy and despair, with managers all over the World being transfixed on one player. The tenacious target man and natural goalscorer, Aleksandar Mitrovic! A number of difficult decisions had to be made prior to the Double GW deadline, Do I Captain the Serbian over Haaland? Do I make moves to bring Mitro into my team? Will he get a yellow card and blank? These questions were constantly swirling round our minds and to be quite honest I was getting too dizzy to think logically!

If you own Mitrovic then the worse case scenario would be for him to pick up a yellow card and blank in the first fixture, equating to a ban ‘in the mud you go’. How often does he realistically get booked though and are there any specific trends? Looking through previous match reports there’s no real patterns. His latest yellow card was way back in October against Everton, so on that basis you either think he could be due a card, or he’s screwed the nut and now utilises pre-game meditation to calm himself down, resulting in a less violent Mitro.

On the other side of the coin, he could propel FPL managers into an endorphin rich party, with goals galore allowing you to revel in the glory of your stupendous decision to captain the Serbian Sea Cucumber! Its a gamble that could pay off and I say gamble because we all know Haaland will be licking his lips searching for his next hat trick Vs a disgruntled Chelsea team.

Aleksandar is still carrying a slight injury and hasn’t been 100% to date regarding fitness, so does that put another spanner in the works? Who knows? Having missed a penalty against Southampton in injury time in Gameweek 18, he could also have a point to prove, as I’m sure it’ll be playing on his mind, however hitting the back of the net tonight will surely cleanse his goal scoring sole. Either way we are in for a fantastic night of Premier League/FPL action. Will Mitrovic owners be in the mud? Only time will tell.

Thanks for reading and good luck in your quest for FPL glory.
