There can be no doubt that GW3 was as predictable as it was punishing for some FPL managers. Bailey started and provided an assist, Perisic became an instant hit, scoring 12 glorious points and owning a double City/Liverpool defence contributed to an influx of out of character rage transfers, doubting the need for a costly back line.

Dependent on how serious you take FPL, if you’re a football fan it’s easy to recognise players that possess that spark of genius to win a game. Ok, but why is that relevant to us? Well, the vast majority of high end yet cheaper players are being neglected in FPL teams. Its easy to turn a blind eye and stick to the template, but sometimes risk equals reward and that’s what separates you from mediocracy and greatness as an FPL manager.
With that in mind, here are my 3 picks that can contribute to you acquiring superiority amongst peers for GW4.
Allan Saint-Maximin
He needs no introduction after his immense performance at the weekend. He glided through that City defence like a hot knife through butter, netting 3 assists and was an absolute handful for Walker, who usually isn’t no mug when it comes to defending. Interestingly ASM seems to have been taken under the wing of England International Kieran Trippier, who has clearly instilled some confidence into the 25-year-old since arriving at the club. Newcastle play Wolves next, who haven’t had the best of starts this season and with a price tag of £6.4 million, ASM becomes a solid pick.

Danny Welbeck
Brighton is a team that hosts a crowd of players that I could mention in this article, however I’ve gone for a someone whose confidence is high after signing a new contract, with 2 assists so far this season. A goal is definitely on the cards when they host Leeds at home this weekend, Danny loves a goal vs Leeds, scoring 2 across their last 3 H2H against the Yorkshire outfit. Price Tag £6.5 million.

Ivan Toney
This guy is a must buy! If you have the funds available, then make it happen. He scored an absolute peach of a goal in GW3 and usually bags a few assists, making him highly desirable in the world of FPL. His current stats are superb, recording 2 goals and 2 assists over 3 GWs and has some tasty fixtures coming up. From GW4 – 7 he plays Everton, Palace, Leeds and Southampton, which bode well for him adding to his current goal tally. Its inevitable that Toney will continue to rise in price over the coming weeks, so if you can get him in now, without losing too many major assets then make the move! Price Tag £7.2 million.

Honourable mentions – Y Wissa £5.4 mill, S March £5.0 mill, B Aaronson £5.5 mill, M Rashford £6.3 mill.
Good Luck for GW4 and on your path to FPL glory!
